SSRS reports not rendering on Chrome/Edge for some users

ReportReport

Hi,
I won't be able to recall when this really began happening. If I were to guess, it'd be going on two months. A few users are experiencing an issue with SSRS reports (some customized, some OOTB) where the report will not render. One of the user I spoke to said it was working for them last week. We did not have any updates or code promotion this past week. What happens now is the user will ultimately be taken to the SrsReportPdfViewForm form, but what shows is the normal header with the printer and download icons, but beneath it there is only a gray page with nothing rendered.
For the short term, I've directed the user to use MS Edge as it still appears to be working there. I should add that I've tried clearing the user's usage data but that didn't work.

Update: I'm adjusting this post as I have a bit more information. Apparently, there are a few more users experiencing the issue. One other user I spoke to was using Edge as their primary browser, and switching to Chrome allowed them to run/render the report. I asked one of the user to print on our Sandbox environment - they were able to print on both Chrome and Edge without issue.
I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

Some Chrome users, not all Chrome users? Have you checked their Chrome for plugins? Have you tried using an Incognito window?

    Hi,

This might be a browser issue, if edge is working fine, it is something to do with browser.

    Hi Anton,
Correct - not all Chrome users. I use Chrome and don't have an issue running the reports. I wonder perhaps clearing the browser cache / cookies might help. I'll also ask them to try incognito mode. BTW, I updated the post as I've gotten information that Chrome is not the only browser with issues. We have a few users who primarily use Edge, and they're running into the same problem.

    Hi Ramit,
I have additional information which points to issues on both Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.

What are the users doing who are getting the error? What is the difference in what the users are doing / system / environment etc. between the two groups of users? I mean the ones that are getting the error and the ones who are not.

    Anton,
One user handles inventory transfers. Where he encounters this issue is from the Transfer form, select Print > Journal. He sets toggles to Yes for Print log, Site, and Warehouse. Clicks OK. That's it. He primarily uses Edge until it began encountering the issue. Then I had him switch over to Chrome. Last time we talked, I asked him to try Edge InPrivate mode, and he was able to render the report on-screen. He stated he has this same issue with Sales order confirmations. Other users who are able to print the Transfer journal are following the same steps - it's not that involved or complicated. They're all accessing our Production instance. System-wise, some are on desktops and others have laptops, while some have both for various reasons. My user actually has both (laptop and desktop), and the issue seems to only be happening on the laptop. I couldn't tell you what the system or configuration differences are, and, again, this issue only started occurring within the last few weeks.

    Hi,
I eventually found out this issue is a known bug since 10.0.39. I understand there are hotfixes available, but the workaround was to clear the browser cache. I have multiple confirmations from Chrome and Edge users that a cache clear has worked.
    Thanks for replies.

I have a customer experiencing the same, but the are on build 10.0.40. Can you point me in the HF / KB ID so I can investigate more and do an update when required? Thank you.
