How to remove a field value to be on another field

I'm looking for a way to move the value from a field in one entity to another field in a different entity. This transfer should happen without disrupting any existing business rules or workflows associated with the original field.

For example, I have a department entity with a field named /WH./ I want the value in the /WH/ field to be automatically populated as the case type in another department entity.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,
To auto-populate fields can be done in a number of ways: calculate field, workflow, flow or js code...
But need to figure these out:
--Are these two fields in the same entity?
--Is the value of one field copied to the other within the same record?
--Or are the values copied from one record to another? Is there a link between the different records?

It would be good to include a screenshot to help us make sense of the business logic.

@leah Ju I have a department with its own case types and fields. I'd like to convert this entire department into a case type within another department, transferring all existing cases and their associated processes.
