If the cash drawer plugs into the printer, you can configure the printer driver to open the drawer.
If you use the Windows printer driver, there is an option under Advanced to pop the drawer, typically set to Document Start.
If you use the OPOS driver, define the printer first then define the cash drawer on the same port.
The scanner may be plug-and-play by default to emulate a keyboard wedge. If so, you can test scanning in Notepad. If the cursor does not advance to the next line, use the manufacturer's setup scan sheet to add a Carriage Return to every scan.
If not a plug-and-play scanner, install the OPOS driver and test it there.
Next go into Store Operations Manager and select Database, Registers, Register List, double-click the station you are configuring, and define your devices.
Example, Receipt Printer 1, Windows driver, <driver name>. Or OPOS driver, device name.
If cash drawer plugs into printer and you are using the Windows driver, do not define the cash drawer.
If cash drawer plugs into printer and you are using the OPOS driver, define the cash drawer.
If cash drawer is USB, install the OPOS driver for the drawer and define the device.
If keyboard wedge scanner, do not define the scanner. If OPOS, enter the device name under Scanner.
