Hi,
I need to renewal the Portal Key authentication in the next few days.
Looking at some documentation the I have the permissions to perform this task.
System Administrator
Dynamics 365 Administrator
Power Platform Administrator
But looking at the permissions now is says a Global Admin or Azure Active Directory application owner can only perform this task??
Is there another setting I need to set up in Dynamics or is the documentation out of date??
Hi Leah Ju,
Thank you for the clarification
Hi Chris1968,
1.The owner is Portal owner, which is different from power apps owner:
The portal owner is the user who created the Power Apps portal. This role can't be managed and can't be changed.
2.For existing provisioned portals, this drop-down list is available on the Portal Details tab and no status is selected by default.
This drop-down list is available only for the portals of type production.
This field is used by Microsoft to understand the usage pattern of this portal and does not affect any functionality. If you use different names for development lifecycle, please select the one which is closer in purpose. This can be changed at a later point of time once portal is provisioned.
Hi Leah Lu,
Just another quick question. I've been added as the Portal owner but my names as not appeared in the 'Owner' field.
Just noticed that the Portal development status is displaying 'Select portal development status'.
I would suspect that this should be showing the option 'Live'???
HI Leah Ju,
Thank for explaining this it makes sense now.
I'll ask our admin team if my name can be added to one of the groups
Hi Chris1968,
The permissions you currently have are not enough
In your first screenshot, it mentioned that Portal App owner and any one of the following roles, It seems that Portal App owner is a requirement.
What is the Portal App owner?
A portal app owner is a user who owns portal application registration in the Azure portal.
If you aren't a global administrator and you try to manage a portal that has already been provisioned, you must be the owner of the Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) application connected to your portal.
So you need add yourself as an owner of the Azure AD application
This task can be performed either by a global administrator of your organization or the existing owner of this application.
