Auto calculate base transaction rate

Posted on by 170

It's CRM 2015 on premise. We have the base currency as USD and our business includes rate in multiple currencies.

On Account Form, There is only one custom currency field called 'Revenue Rate'. The user enters the rate in the currency based on their location and dynamics auto converts to base currency in "base_revenuerate" field. -- THIS IS THE EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR.

We update the exchange rate manually once a month. The revenue rate on Account will NOT auto calculate the base currency based the updated exchange rate. Due to some business need, I need all accounts 'base_revenuerate' be auto-calculated based whenever the exchange rate is updated.

How to do that? Please help

    Hi,

Base currency will be calculated upon record update(manual or serverside). so you have to trigger a plugin on exchange rate update on currency entity, in which you just need to retrieve all(may be active) the accounts with Revenue Rate not null and then call service.update foreach record (without any changes).

    Hi,

Just want to add new exchange rate will be used for calculation when any changes will be done in the currency field, so you need to set some automation to recalculate those fields or you can try this: community.dynamics.com/.../real-time-exchange-rates-using-a-calculated-field-in-dynamics-crm

    Hello,

The currency data will be updated once you open the record and perform a save action with a modification on the money fields.

If you want to make sure that all accounts are recalculated once you updated the exchange rate, then you could perform this by a plugin or a workflow which is triggered once the exchange rate is changed and update the money fields of each accounts.

    Regards,

    Clément
