Problem displaying stage categories of an opportunity in a view after the 9.0 update

When an opportunity stage is updated through the business process flow, the stage disappear in the column of the views showing this opportunity. The column is supposed to show the stage category (aka processtage_category) which is  an option set. I believe this is also the source of other bugs that appeared after the 9.0 update.

I can't find the origin of the problem, do someone had the same problem?

Can you help me resolve it?

    Hi Vincent,

Could I ask you to provide more information:

    1) Is the process flow connected to a single entity (i.e. only used exclusively on the opportunity)?

    2) Were you using the connected "Process Stage" relationship in order to use the Process Stage Name, Stage Category and Primary entity columns?

    3) Were you using the ProcessID or StageId fields on the opportunity entity? (Reference: blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../how-to-determine-which-business-process-flow-bpf-instance-is-shown-when-a-record-is-opened-2)

    1) I think the business process flow is only connected to opportunity.

2/3) I'm an Intern, and I discovered the company and the whole CRM only a few days before the update, I can't tell you what or how things were done before..

But the sandbox I use to perform test hasn't been updated yet so I might be able to check, but I don't really know how to..

    Hi Vincent,

The stage category and process stage name is generally seen in the following manner:

    1) Open up advanced find, then look for Opportunities:

    2) Choose to add more columns and choose the record type to be Process Stage. Tick all the fields and click ok to add them to the view:

    3) As seen on point 1, click results and see if the stage category and process stage name are displayed. Does this match the issue you are experiencing in any way?

So this is a screenshot of what I obtained after following your steps.

Julie Crombois is the user who experienced the issue. After updating the business process flows on the forms of some opportunities, she discovered that the stage disappeared in the view. It seems like the result I obtained here match the issue.

Do you have any idea where the problem might be coming from?

    Hi Vincent,

I've done some research and am really not able to figure out why the stages are not showing.

Some are suggesting you deactivate the BPF (Business Process Flow) and reactivate it while some are suggesting it could be because the name of the BPF was not updated (www.leicht-bewoelkt.de/bug-in-bpf-with-dec-update).

What I would suggest, if neither of the above work, is to use a workflow against the BPF entity and let workflow set the stages to prevent any additional errors from happening: community.dynamics.com/.../272877
