Knowledge Article Publish and Expiration

Hello there,

Just wondering if how does "Publish on" and "Expiration Date" behave. What will happen to the article if Expiration date was met?

Question 1: Tried to test this Expiration Date feature but nothing happened. We were still able to view the article in Portal ESS. Also, what's the specific field will be updated once the article has expired? Is it the Status reason? If yes, how come I only see 3 available values namely 1. Published 2. Needs review and 3. Updating. I was assuming to have some sort of "Expired" option here.

Question 2: What's the specific field that will be updated when Publish on was met? would that be the "Status Reason"? And if we were planning to use this feature what should be the initial value for Status reason? Currently it only has Published, Needs review, and Updating.

Please enlighten me.

Thank you,

rome

    Hi Rome,

Looks like you are not using the correct combination of status and status reason.

unlike other entities knowledge articles just dont have active and inactive status but has Draft, Approved, Scheduled, Published etc.

and under then you will have many status reasons such as for published you will have , published , Needs Review and Updating which is available out of the box :

when you schedule your knowledge article to be expired or published on a certain date

there are some out of the box field such as "expirationstatusid and expirationdate || publishedstatusid and publishondated which are field and late when they are met , the status of the article is changed :
