Document number not using correct sales type Id for sequence

We are having a random issue where the document number will use another sequential number from one of our other sales type ids, we then have to log everyone out and re-save the Sales Type ID so that the next sequential number will show up correctly. Has anyone see this issue before, we are using GP 10 SP4.

The ones we are having trouble with all have a serial number, there are some that don't have a serial number but we aren't having problems with them. We do have backorder linked without a serial number, do you think that could be causing this? How do I do Check link?

Are you sure that all Sales ID having it is own serial number and no one has blank Serial Number.

Also try Check link.
