Management reporter GP upgrade and Server move

Posted on by 4,887

Okay - we are upgrading from GP2013 R2 to GP2018 and moving off old server to new server. We have completed the GP upgrade and server move and now have to decide how to address Management Reporter 2012 piece of the puzzle.

Both GP2013 and GP2018 environments are available and functioning.

Management Reporter 2012 is at 2.1.7044.43 and SQL database is ManagementReporter.

I assume this is the older - non data mart version.

Trying to determine best course of action -

1.    Should I 'upgrade' the existing Management Reporter installation on the GP2013 Server (which is running and functioning)

which would create a data mart database and update the application. Then do the same on the GP2018 server and just re-direct existing users application to the new server?

2. Or do I export all the building blocks from the existing working application (older version) - install latest Management reporter on the new GP2018 server and import the building blocks from 2.1.7044.43 into the latest management reporter build?

3. Or do I move the older version database from the old server to the new server (without upgrading MR at all) - get it working - there's a KB available - then upgrade MR at later date?

4.  Other ideas?
