All works : Work Order Type - Cycle Counting

Hello,

I have a question relating to works of type Cycle Counting.

I have created a cycle count plan and the work has been generated successfully.

However, I noticed that there are other works of type Cycle Counting which are present not related to the cycle count plan created.

Is there any function or transaction done whether on D365/Mobile device which can generate these works automatically?

Hi Rina,

Next to the cycle count plan, there is also an option for Cycle count thresholds. See also the documentation: docs.microsoft.com/.../define-cycle-counting-microsoft-dynamics-365-finance-operations-enterprise-edition-july-2017

Hi Rina,

Take a look at below.

In addition the mobile device menu items (e.g. one designed for picking) can trigger cycle counting as well.

This can be triggered based on your work exception code when the picker does a short pick.

Hey Rina,

I'm not 100% sure of your question. It comes into play when you short pick. So when you short pick from the mobile device the work exception code is required. If you don't have at least one setup you cannot short pick.

Actually, I was wondering how is the work exception code created related to the mobile device option Short Pick. If I have correctly understood, the link is the 'Exception type - Short Pick'.

Hi Rina,

The exception codes that show up for short picks are marked as short pick in the exception type field. See the screenshot below.
