Remove ability to permanently close ledger calendars

I want to remove the ability to choose /permanently closed/ for periods. However, I still want users to be able to select the other two options.

How can I solve this?

Pretty sure you're looking at a customization for this.  There is no configuration option.  I'm not sure why MSFT even still provides the option to permanently close a period.

    Hi Gaute,

The option to permanently close periods is to ensure nobody can ever create additional postings and change the P&L when it is not allowed anymore. I would suggest to keep this option. When you put a period only to on-hold, someone can reopen it and make additional entries. You don't want that in case the year is already fully reported and audited.

I see that I was probably not clear enough in my post. I want to remove the ability to permanently close for everyone except system admins. Isn't it possible at all?

    Hi Gaute,

Thanks for the clarification. It is not possible to hide one option in the standard application using e.g. a configuration. You can consider a customization to meet this requirement. This was also mentioned by Frank Hamelly.

Thanks Andre.  I understand why it's there but to me the risk of a user accidentally closing a period permanently is higher than intentionally re-opening a historical period and posting more transactions inadvertently or without permission or consequence.
