GP 9.0 Adding new features, error attempting to create directory

I am trying to install encumberence management to an existing install of GP 9.0. I ran the Install Disk1, I chose to add new features and selected the encumberence mgmt. The installer goes thru the validation etc, and then gives an error message "Error attempting to create the directory ...." (followed by the GP installation directory path). The directory exists (and actually contains a running install of GP 9.0), and I am logged in as administrator. OS is Windows Server 2003 R2 SP1 (which IS on the compatibility list).

 The GP Installer should not even be trying to create the directory as it already exists. Any thoughts / ideas about how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!

    I've run into a similar situation with other modules, specifically when I had more than one instance of GP 9 installed on the same machine. What I did to get around the issue was to rename the directory temporarily, so that the installer could create it, and then, after the install was done, I merged the contents of the newly created directory and the renamed directory by copying all of the contents of the renamed directory into the newly created directly. And then I removed the empty, renamed directory.

    Might be worth a try?
