Change time increments on activites?

(0) ShareShare

Right now it looks like an activity can only start and stop on the half hour.  How do you change the drop down list for the time to give you 5 minute increments instead of 30 minute?

Causes probelms with service activities when the engineer has to select a half hour increment for something that only took 5 minutes.

TIA,

Jim

    Hi Jim,

One option would be set the duration instead that has an option for 5 mnutes and let is adjust the end time based on duration and start time.

this would help some, but still would not really do what we want.  It goes from 1 hour to 1.5 hours.  What if something is 1 hour 10 minutes? then we lose 20 minutes of time in our reporting.

    Hi Jim,

If you wanted to enter 1hr 10mins you could enter 70 in the duration and it would automatically calculate the end time based on the start time.

Though duration is a picklist, you can delete the value of the picklist field using backspace and then type in 70 and tab out. It will calculate the end time and also display the duration as 1.16 hours.

Not a perfect solution but should be of some help to you.

Wow, I learn something new about CRM everyday.  I did not realize that you could change the values inthe picklist.  That will work fine, they can use the defaults, and if they need to have something different, they can just backspace and change the time to something else.  thanks for the help.
