Hi,

I have searched everywhere for this information, but can't find a solution. I have a large amount of redundant account and contact records. I need to request the up to date information directly from the contacts in the records. Once they respond, each piece of information then needs to go into the appropriate field.

Rather than exporting the data to a CSV file and then importing it from CSV to a survey, sending out the survey, getting responses and importing back to the Dynamics CRM, I thought there must be a way to send out the record data to the customer contained in the email address, asking them to modify it and it gets updated automatically in the CRM.

Can anyone tell me how to do that? I don't mind developing a bespoke solution, if that is required.

Hi

Before people come up with weird and wonderful website and data capture solutions, could you please let us know under what jurisdiction does your organisation operate?

Anti spam legislation and data protection rules in the EU (and surely under other countries' jurisdictions) will be quite important before going any further. Sending out an email to ask people to complete their details on your website should also be made in a way that it doesn't look too much like a phishing attempt :)

I guess you would use CRM Portals now. docs.microsoft.com/.../administer-manage-portal-dynamics-365

We are looking at doing the same thing. I see this was 5 years ago, curious if it worked and if there is any type of add-on or app that is already developed to do this now.

You can accomplish this by leveraging the SDK.

Create a website that allows for CRM data to be displayed and updated through webservices. The website URL could consists partially of the contact GUID for unique ID, so when you send out the request for updating the contact information, you would need to send the link containing their specific GUID.

That would be a relatively "safe" way.
