Hi:

If you review the screenshot below, you will see several iterations of the Sales Shipment report.

If you want to modify this report, how do you know which layout to use?

Thanks!

John

Further to the right there should be a more descriptive text around the layout and it should also tell you what type of layout it is.

That you give you some hints.

Normally you would like to customize the word layout unless you are knowledgeable of rdlc layouts.

This is from the custom report layout page:

Hi, the general way is to try to print all layouts and give the client confirmation.
Basically, when deploying ERP, the modification of the layout is inevitable. If customization is required, it should be customized on this basis.

PS: Sales - Invoice is even more. . . .

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

Thanks, Inge!  Unfortunately, in the case of this one report, there is not much more information.

But, yes, I would prefer to tackle a Word layout no matter what the report is.

So, how do you "tell" Business Central that the modified Word doc is to be used, after you have finished modifying it?

Hi, just set it as the default on the Report Layouts page.
