NAV2018 error while connecting to RTC: The system is currently updating, try to connect later

Hi ,

Today users at one of our customers received following error while connecting to RTC.

    "The system is currently updating, try to connect later".

What could be possible reasons for the above ? 

We are aware than an extension was being loaded in the database shortly before the error. Could that lead to the error ?

Can  this error be avoided by increasing system resources by any chance ?
