Uninstalling GP 10 - Dexterity error

Hello everyone,

I installed GP10 using the KB947538. When I try to uninstall it I get a notification saying "The following components must be installed in order to proceed: Microsoft Dexterity Shared Components 10.0".

So far I have tried reinstalling GP so I can uninstall it and uninstalling .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 and then reinstalling the pre-requisites, but no luck. I need a straightforward way to remove it bypassing the framework check.

 Thanks in advance!
Nelson A.

    Hi,

I'm also having this issue.  I've tried removing .Net 2.0, and also Dexterity Shared Components and neither combination has allowed me past that nagging notification window.  Any help would be much appreciated.

     Thanks,

    Tim

I've done something that worked and I'll try to describe the steps here.

Our GP10 server is on SP3.  It is set to Auto-Update when a GP10 user machine connects to the server.  This update process caused an error related to an Excel .dll in the GP10\Add-Ins folder.

     1.  I went in and changed the extention of the .dll so Windows wouldn't recognize it.

    2.  I logged in, and the server automatically pushed an update to Dexterity Shared Components (even though Add&Remove programs showed it already installed)

     3. I closed the program, went Add & Remove programs and removed Dynamics 10.

I realize this solution won't work for everyone, but hopefully it helps someone out.

Make it a third person with this issue.

     Thanks -

If you've got a service pack on, try reinstalling the service pack.  If not try reinstalling with FR1
