Need help on extending DynamicsGP Workflow

Requirement: Add the field "RemainingSubtotal" in an existing workflow type "Purchase Order Approval" Problem: The WorkflowIntegrationGuide document only discussed exposing a third-party (customization). What I need to do is expose the "RemainingSubtotal" which by default is not included or exposed in the "Require approval when:" list of PO fields. Thanks.
