Update sales orders with retail channel from Excel

Hello experts,

I am trying to modify some sales order records in excel with the dynamics ax excel plugin. The entity i am using is the SalesOrderHeaderEntity.

When trying to publish the changed information i get the following error

8407.error.png

The sales order is indeed associated with a retail channel, but my question is:

Is it possible to modify the permissions on the entity, so that it is possible to do the changes to the sales order header in excel?

And a follow up question if it is possible: Are there a lot of work involved to do this kind of change to the entity?

It's not about permissions; it seems that the entity doesn't know how to handle these orders. The logic simply isn't there.

I don't Retail functionality so I can't say why Microsoft decided that allowing it would be a bad idea, but it clearly was an intentional decision.

    Hi Johan,

Can you indicate what exactly you want to update on the sales orders? Sales orders with a retail channel could be created via POS statements. I can understand that possibly ensuring data integrity between POS (or other onmi-channel sales) and sales orders would be the reason for not allowing changing data that easy.

Hello ,  this is an old post, am hitting the same issue,  wondering if there are any updates on this

    scenarios

there is an external , application which uses odata to create retail sales order in the channel database, and then they need to update, a field on the sales table,   and once that field is updated we have job to post the sales order etc
