Hi:
We have a new 2016 environment setup and a dashboard with sections that display "Contacts, Activities and Incidents". When we login, the dashboard loads as the default and then I click on a contact in the contact section of the dashboard; the dashboard ribbon doesn't show the related ribbon and the same thing happens when we click on the other entity type dashboard sections as well.
Does anyone have any ideas for how we can resolve this?

If I understand you correctly, you made a dashboard with contact, activity, and Case views. When you click into one of those views, you aren't getting the entity-specific ribbon.
That is expected behavior, the Dashboard ribbon is for the Dashboard, not the entity in the dashboard. To get the entity ribbon, you need to click the subgrid icon in the upper right of the entity view you want. That will pop up a new window with just that entity, and the ribbon you expect.
There is no way to override this behavior on the dashboard that I know of.
