Throttling limit is exceeded by the operation

Getting the error "Throttling limit is exceeded by the operation" when opening the document link of CRM online entity which is integrated with "SharePoint online".

My document library mapped here in CRM online contains all items more than 5000, but at top level it is having 100 + folders.

It seems that the error bcoz of threshold limit of list which is 5000.

Is there any workaround for this.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Raj

    Hello,

Have you seen this thread - social.microsoft.com/.../throttling-limit-is-exceeded-by-the-operation

If you have more than 5000 items in a document library (irrespective of how they are divided into folders/document locations in CRM) you can still view documents in a CRM view but if you try to sort by any column other than location like name/content type etc. you'll receive this error. It is coming from Sharepoint's CAML query limit.

This is documented in the SDK - see the section on Resource Throttling - technet.microsoft.com/.../dn792527.aspx

The only work around is to create separate document libraries to keep the number of items below 5000 but I find that sorting in CRM isn't really needed since users can use the 'Open in SharePoint' button if they want to do more advanced views of the documents.

    Hope this answers your question.

    Hello Scott,

I changed the sorting order back to "Location Asc" but still I am getting this error. After some research I found that the column name is "Path" and the second sort order should be empty (set it to select).

Hi Jandost Khoso, is your issue resolved after removing sort on second field?
