SSRS - how to show and hide row based on new field on form.

Posted on by

Hi, I added a new field called "Mgmt approved" to the Orders page. This is simply a checkbox.

I have no idea what value CRM is passing for the Yes and No, if it's a 0 or 1, or Yes or No, or True or false...

Anyways, based on this value, I want the SSRS report to show or hide a row.

I added the row visibility expression in SSRS as

iif(Field!MgmtApproved= "Yes", true, false)

But nothing happens, can someone help? IS it possible the field is not coming over from CRM? Because the report output does not show the field being populated.

    Hi,

Default values for two option set  /Bit attributes are

     0 for No / False and 1 for Yes/True

Also looks like you added this field after record created, so mostly this value might be null

so you need to check for Null value in SSRS report and then try

    try using expression this way

    =IIF(Fields!MgmtApproved.Value IS NOTHING, FALSE,IIF(Fields!MgmtApproved.Value = 0,TRUE, FALSE))

Doesnt work, the output to the SSRS preview is Yes or No and not 0....so i replaced it so it looks like this and it still doesnt work.

    =IIF(Fields!MgmtApproved.Value IS NOTHING, FALSE,IIF(Fields!MgmtApproved.Value = "Yes",TRUE, FALSE))

Thanks, your example helped. You were right about the field, but the row was only yes or no, and not 1 or 0.

I have failed to understand one thing here, why would you want to retrieve the row at the first place which is not shown in the report.

Why not to have a SQL  which filters the data based on your condition.

Getting data to your client and then applying script to hide it costlier.

Please correct me if I haven't understood the point you made.
