Management Reporter - change in Domains

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by Microsoft Employee

My client has recently changed their domains, they have reports sitting in the repository for over 4 years - they use Unit Security on the reports - is it possible to modify these reports in the repository to point to the new user.

The client is very upset that she potentially loses the ability to review the older reports because the domain is no longer going to be active. She also does not want to export the reports out to excel - she feels it should REMAIN in the repository.

    Hi,

Mike is right... This is going to be a little challenging, though not impossible to solve I think.. Read this thread that explains how to deal with AD security after a server move and domain change

Management Reporter(MR) security is driven by the Users Active Directory Domain account.  The answer to your question is that it depends.  I don't know what security is assigned in terms of Reports, Rows, Columns and Trees.  Our client that require security normally assign security to a MR Security Group.  The MR security Group then has AD users assigned.  Simply by updating the MR security group, I believe that users would have access to their reports they had before hand.
