hi,

I’m extending the 1306 report layout but stuck on how to get a logic in the report to have a new column which will show a message if certain criteria is met.

so logic is:

Payment term code is set to '0DAYS'
message should say: /No payment is needed, Paid in full/

but this message should only appear if the code is 0DAYS.

one last added complication, this report needs to work in Word and not RDLC.

If anyone has any idea would be fantastic.

    Hi Yun Zhu,
Firstly, big fan of your work. Appreciated the efforted you put into the community and your website.
Hope you have a great 2024!

A heartfelt thank you for the link; it proved to be incredibly helpful, as always 😊 I followed your suggestion and successfully figured out how to manage the message displayed on the Word layout invoice by extending the Payment Term code table and extracting the message from there.
For the report extension, here are the steps I took:

If you can conceive of a more efficient approach or consider sharing this insight through an article on your website, I believe it would be immensely beneficial and valuable for many of your readers.

    Regards,

Hi, First this requires using Report Extension to add new column. Then display it on the page.
    Report extensibility (ReportExtension Object)

As for the conditions you mentioned, you can control them in code.
If the Payment term code is equal to 0DAYS, the message is empty. In this way, the Word layout will also display empty.

Hope this can give you some hints.
    Thanks.
    ZHU
