Export to PDF

Posted on by 95

Just installed GP 10 client on a new system.  User could export reports to PDF on her old system.  It is not an option on the new system.  Adobe Standard 8.14 installed on both systems.  Is there a GP update I need to put on her system or a configuration change I need to make to allow her to export to PDF?

    Hi hm.

You also need to install the adobe distiller.

This does not install on a standard installation.

When installing Adobe choose the custom installation and check the distiller option.

Safer to unistall the previous installation and reinstall again.

    Hope this helps.

I assumed having 8.14 Standard installed on her system would be all I needed, is that not the case?

    Re: Export to PDF

    Hi,
past in the days where I worked with GP 8.x  I remember that it needed to be a specific version of Adobe Acrobat Writer that GP was looking for... you couldn't use any PDF creator to export directly document from the print-config dialog box.

Of course, there is a work around that is much less costly then installing Adobe Acrobat Write... use any free PDF creation tool that will allow you to install a printer queue on the worksation and than you're all set to print any report from GP as a PDF output format. We used to print all the monthly report for AP and AR as PDF documents, since those could easily run into the hundreds of page and we didn't wanted this on paper. That allows you a safe archving of montly reports for later inquiry by anyone.

    Hope this helps,
    Have a great time
