I recently created a new company within GP v10. Everything runs great and the databases are created within SQL. When I go to login to GP using SA, I would think I would see the new company however I do not. It is not listed anywhere.
If I run Select * from DYNAMICS.dbo.SY01500 I see the list of all my companies except the new one I created. Is there something I am missing?
I've created a company before (a long time ago) and don't remember having all these issues!
Thanks for any help -

You're most welcome! Glad the problem is resolved!
Thank you Sean! It seems this scrip fixed whatever was going on and now my company is finally showing up! I can stop pulling my hair out!!
I found this suggestion in another thread:
Delete the company, run clear company script, verify DYNSA is the owner of all GP databases and then create the new company again.
Definitely weird then. Can you share a screenshot of the company created in SQL? Make sure to expand the whole tree so we can see the structure.
I take it you're not getting any messages when the database is being created through GP utilities correct?
I don't know that I've ever seen a new company created through GP utilities not get created in the SY01500 table even as far back as GP 9.0.
Do you see the new company record in either the Dynamics..db_upgrade or Dynamics..DU000020 table?
Bill -
I did not create the database within SQL Management Studio - I used GP Utilities and ran it as Administrator. I verified the ODBC connection to my SQL instance which is the one that the databases show up in.
I'm at a loss as to why this is not working as it should. I've deleted the database about 10 times now and tried to create the company using GP Utilities. Nothing seems to get the company to show up.
I only have 1 SQL instance to choose from when creating the new company which is the one I used when creating this company.
I've done this a few times with the same results each time. The company is not in the SY01500 table and it is in SQL.
Hi,
Bill's answer rang true to me. If it's been a long time since you created a new company, this can easily happen. If you open the new company database in SQL, do you see the usual array of tables normally found in a company? If not, then for sure the company wasn't created in GP Utilities. If you copied an existing database just using SQL, the company will still not show up in GP.
Kind regards,
Leslie
Just to clarify Sean comment - 'so the database is created in SQL'
When you open SQL Server Studio, open Databases, you DO see the new database - right?
Is there any chance that you created the databases in SQL Management Studio and not in GP Utilities?
If you did, look at the GP Utilities again and see what ODBC it is using - is pointing somewhere else.
