Microsoft Dynamics GP (Archived)

copy of database

I need to make a copy to dvd of the .ldf and .mdf files of one our companies databases within GP.

 

What steps do I need to take to accomplish this?

    I would back up the DYNAMICS, company, and master databases and copy those to a DVD. You can use WinRAR to compress the backup files. I have seen a compression ratio of up to 90% of the database size.

    You will need to stop the DB server and copy both the DYNAMICS and the COMPANY Database since DYNAMICS holds all of the company information ... if you are just trying to get a copy you can just back it up what are you trying to use this for?
