Hello - we closed AP prior to printing 2017 1099's.  Now our 1099 data is showing 2018.  How do we correct?  Thank you in advance.

If you have access to SQL Management Studio and are comfortable running database queries you can do the following:

First, whenever you are about to run database updates it is strongly recommended that you have a current backup of the application database that you are about to update.

Second, this approach is only valid if you have not manually edited in any 1099 information on the vendor 1099 tab while initialize mode is set.

    Run the following SQL statements:

    update ap_setup set curr1099yr = 2017, next1099yr = 2018

    update vendor set curr1099yr = 2017, next1099yr = 2018

Once you have done these two update queries, go to the AP menu and open AP Integrity Check.  Check the Rebuild 1099 History option only and run the process.

Note: in most cases you want the current 1099 year to remain the outgoing year (2017 in this case) until you are about to start cutting checks for 2019 (in this case).  That way you have access to both the 2017 and the 2018 1099 information all during 2018.  Dynamics SL only saves 2 years worth of 1099 information so that is why you have to run the 1099 Calendar Year Control process once each year but it is best to wait until you are certain you no longer need the 1099 information for the outgoing year.
