PO Line number shows comma when over 1000 lines

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

My customer has some PO's that are imported that have over 1000 lines. When viewing one of these documents in an GP window (PO Inquiry, etc.), the line number includes a comma as the thousands separator, which caused the number to not fit in the field completely. From what I have looked so far, I would think I should be able to change the formatting of the field through Modifier to remove the thousands-separator (I have done this in Report Writer), but I can't find which field/format I need to change. What process would I use to determine which format I should change? Any insight to help me with future requests like this is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much, Leslie! I literally just needed to double-click on the scroll window and I think I would have got where I needed.

    Hi Kyle Rehome

You can for sure doing what you want. Open the Purchase Order Inquiry Zoom window in Modifier (use tools > Customize > Modify Current Window). When the window opens, double click on where the line items would be listed. This is called a scrolling window. In order to access the fields on the scrolling window, you have to first open it. The field you want to modify is called LineNumber. Select the field and then look at the properties window - CTRL + M will open the window if it isn't open. Double click on the DataType item. It says INT. Once the DataType is open, you'll notice there is no format assigned to this DataType. Pick a format or create a new one. I gotta believe there is one you can use.

That's all there is to it. Here's how it looks in Modifier, it's probably too small to see well.

    Kind regards,
