There is a scenario where I am currently wondering if this can be achieved using standard inventory management function of if there is any work around to it.
So this is the scenario, items order by the customer is entered in the sales order lines. Currently we are doing reservation in the sales order lines before they are picked from the warehouse. We are reserving the site and the warehouse and we leave serial number open. Now the warehouse operator will execute picking inside the warehouse using the picking list, but the items picked is not loaded to the delivery truck yet, it goes to another location (a workshop location) to configure the item to a working state before it will be loaded to the truck and delivered to the client. Issue here is that they wanted to monitor that the inventory was picked from the warehouse and is currently in the workshop and that standard inventory management function right after picking the status gets "Picked" and awaits loading to the truck.
So we need to capture the movement of item from picking location to workshop location, and transfer journals wont work because we are doing the reservation of the item on the sales order lines.
