Business Portal

Good afternoon,

Our organization is looking at installing Business Portal and trying to compare the upgrade paths and road maps for three applications; Microsoft Dynamics GP, SharePoint and Business Portal.

My question is, will Business Portal 6.0 run with Dynamics GP2010 R2 on a server running MS SQL Server 2008R2?

Thanks,

Joanne Herzog

    Hi Joanne,

I guess, the Business Portal 5.1 suited for your current Dynamics GP version. Business Portal 6.0& 6.1 suited for Dynamics GP 2013.

    Business portal 6.0

Additionally, this is a good reference to consider Microsoft Dynamics GP Business Portal 2013 Released

Business Portal 6.0 is released for Dynamics GP 2013. So, I think this won't support for GP 2010 R2.

For your reference, please have a look on the below links.

    Hope this helps!!!

You'll need to use BP 5.0 with SharePoint 2007 or BP 5.1 with SharePoint 2010.

    Thanks

    Soma,

Thank you for your response and reference links.  The 2nd link is extremely useful as it provides a nice summary of the upgrade path options one has with SharePoint, Business Portal and Dynamics GP, no matter what your starting point.   I found this (including extended links) a particularly useful tool for determining the appropriate version and configuration of Business Portal that would balance all of the Lifecycle SLA agreements in our organization that touch on this application with our resource constraints and customer demand.

Your information brought some much needed clarity and focus to the task at hand.

    Regards,

    Joanne Herzog
