Error Message "Container was allready created for the shipment"

Posted on by 92
Hello,

a collegue consolidated some shipments into one and picked and packed them by using mobile device. A container has been created and is still open in packaging area.

Now he got the error message /Container was allready created for the shipment/ when posting the put work of a sales order pick.

I can't close or cancel the work and i can't delete the shipping line from the shipping.

I do not have any idea why this error occurs and how to solve it.

Does someone can help?

Thanks in advance

In the meantime i have succeeded to reproduce this failure.

We have 2 Sales Orders for the same customer

    Sales Order 1
    Line 1
    Line 2
    LIne 2

    Sales Order 2
    Line 1

Release to warehouse SO1/Line 1 and Line 2 creates Shipment 1, Load 1 and warehouse work 1.
Work has been picked and packed on Container 1 (Container still open)

Release to Warehouse SO2/Line 1 created Shipment 2, Load 2 and warehouse work 2

Shipment 2 is now consolidated into Shipment 1. So Shipment2 and Load 2 does not exist anymore

Work 2 is picked. When posting pu to pack - location  i get an error.

Same result if I consolidate Shipment 1 into Shipment 2

Does D365 tries to create a Container in this step? But Container is created in Containierisation dialog later.

If I fulfill the warehouse work first and consolidate after posting put to pack location everything works.

But this is not the preferred way because we print the shipment ID on a label for identification. So we have a Shipment ID printed on the label which does not exist anymore.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Matthias

    Hi,
You can go to Warehouse management > Packing and containerization > Containers and check whether the container used for the shipment overlaps with the container you created.
Or you can refer to the content of the following articles to set it up.
