Import data from XML spreadsheet causing mapping issues not able to resolve

Hi all, I am having issues with importing from a template into Dynamics 365 sales enterprise.
 
I have tried multiple times to import data from a lead excel template and get the same error that a field is not mapping correctly and when I choose ignore I get this message "The XML passed to the platform is not well-formed XML."  I also cannot see what field/column is not mapping correctly.
 
Is this a new issue, as I have imported from a template in the past with no issues?

    Are you working from an old template maybe, and something in your table has changed? Try going into Advanced Settings > Data Management > Download template for grab a new one. 
     
    Otherwise, do other imports work for you? When did this one start failing? Are you able to import data from your own spreadsheet doing manual mapping successfully?

    Hi Tom, yes I have downloaded a new template and populated the data. Since it is a lead, there are few required fields on that form. It keeps saying a field is not mapped, but it does not identify which field is not mapped. I said ignore,, and it does nothing. No attempts to import anything so there are no successes or failures?
