Build server merge error : The item $/D365FO/Trunk/Main/ has an incompatible pending change

Hello,

In Build server, when doing merge code from Dev to Main, recently I get this warning message : The item $/D365FO/Trunk/Main/ has an incompatible pending change\

We suspected that this is because some developer accidentally check-in some objects from his/her DevBox which having way older version of F&O. But now all DevBox already upgraded, yet we have this message during new Merge

How to trace and check the exact root cause if lets say the message also specified what object has this incompatible pending change. ?

But most importantly, may I know how to resolve this ?
