Multi-store Returning Items

1. We have 4 stores and sometimes an item might come back that was purchased in one of our other stores. Will RMS automatically just add that item to the store that that item is being returned or should I then transfer that item to the store it was purchased. It doesn't really matter what way it does it as long as I know.

2. If an item is returned and is faulty and needs to be returned to Vendor what way does RMS handle this. How will all the stores know that this item is not for resale?

    1. RMS will add the item to the store that returned the item, increasing the QOH by the amount returned.

    2. Setup a Reason Code for Return to offline inventory.  You will probably want to also want to turn on the Option to prompt for Reason Code in the Configuration dialog box.  Items returned to offline inventory will not increase the QOH.

    1)  If the item exists in the store database then it will allow the cashier to return it. RMS will place that item in the stock for that store.  You can then transfer the item to another store or to offline inventory (might be in offline already depending on return reason), if you want.

RMS does not automatically transfer items that were returned.

    2)  Depends on the return reason that the cashier chooses when returning the item.  If not for resale then it places the item in Offline Inventory area.

The reason can either be "Return to Main Inventory" type or "Return to Offline Inventory" type.
