Copy Paste Issue in Chrome Browser

Hi All,

Facing a strange issue.

When we copy few fields from Chrome browser into another place, say notepad the value gets pasted twice.

E.g : if the value was 10345 when we paste it becomes 1034510345

How can we resolve this issue

Points to Note

1. Issue is only for certain fields in Chrome, i.e not all fields such behavior is found

2. Issue does not arise in Internet explorer

Is this behavior for a particular type of field? For example, does it happen only for Options Sets or Lookups?

I experienced before, but i forgot when the behavior happened, i think you were coping value from label and Textbox. e.g. Annual Revenue, label is "Annual Revenue" and Textbox value is 10345, then the title in Textbox is same 10345. When you highlight the label and value then copy it, then the value and title maybe copied in the same time. "Annual Revenue 1034510345"

Strangely for a display only field. I think its a lookup field, but there is no navigation on clicking of it.

Sorry if I do not know the actual terminology as I am new to CRM :)

The behavior you double click 1003919549 and copy?

How about you use mouse to highlight it and then copy? What is the result?

Wow you got it, issue exists only when we double click and copy pasted.

I tried with mouse and it worked correctly i.e pasted only once.

Is there any way we can solve the double clicking part as well.

Yes, When you double click the Textbox, it may copy Value and Title too. Please mark the correct answer if it help. :)

But this does not happen in IE, happens only in Chrome. How can we prevent in from Chrome since Only Chrome is used by most of the users.

It should be a browser issue, Firefox has similar behavior. I think you should educate users to highlight rather than double click and copy the value. Another workaround can be done by javascript but huge effort. it may not a option.

In Chrome, using the mouse to highlight the value and copy still duplicates the value.

However, if I "triple click", it captures and pastes the value just once.
