What is the difference between a "Marketing Page" and a "Form Page". Why does the Form Submission have no Entity relation to the Form Page?

Hello,

i have following problem:

If i enable form hosting it will create a "Form page" that provides me with options to embedd the form (via script and via iFrame)

Other option to embed a form is to create a Marketing Page and put the form in there and iframe the link of the marketing page.

Both options then appear on the "Related marketing pages" tab in the form itself. (1. is the "Form page", 2 is the "Marketing page" - both linked to the same form)

Now my question:

Why does the Form Page have a direct entity relation to the "Form Submission Record" but not a relation to the "Marketing Page" even though they show both in "Related marketing pages". I really need to use Form pages but wihtout the relation i cannot make use of it. Why is that?

Thank you very much in advance.

Best,
a

    Hi a,

These two kinds can both embed marketing forms.

The Marketing page has its own URL and can integrate with Portal.

Design, check, and publish marketing pages (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs

And form page is used to embed the marketing form by copying the script or iFrame code to the website.

Embed forms on external websites (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs

The submissions from both of them can be found in the Insights tab > Submissions of the Marketing Form.

    Heyy Nya,

    thanks for you answer!!

yes, the difference is clear. But i don't understand why the Entity "Form Submission" does not have a direct relationship to "Form Page" in the datamodel. With "Marketing Page" it shows correctly but not with the "Form Page"...

    Can this somehow be achieved?

I want to have different "Form Pages" for a single form. And based on the "Form Page" I want to feed that missing field so i know from which form page the customer filled out the form.

    Best,
    A
