"New" Button Grayed out on all lookups GP 2013

The users are not able to click NEW and create new items when in the lookup windows (batch lookup, U of M schedule, etc). This is in GP 2013. New is grayed out on every lookup window. Is this a bug?

This happens for everyone including sa. On my system as well as the client's.

I found something online that said that the "new" button is not available on all windows. Does anyone have a list of which ones it does and does not work for?

In 15 years of working with GP, I've never even noticed that button! But why would this be important? You're already in the window where you need to setup a new whatever when you click the lookup button.

You are not already in the window. You are in the Inventory Item Setup window and when you look up the U of M schedule you find out that it is not created yet so you need to click New so you can create it and then finish setting up the item. Otherwise, you would have to get out of Item Maint, go into U of M schedules, set it up, then go back and start setting up the item all over again.

The word from Microsoft is, "NEW" is only available for creating new records and not for setup screens. A U of M schedule is actually a setup screen so it does not work there.

Yes "New" button is used to create new records from their window. But, I don't think this won't work for setup window. Thanks for the update. Mark your answer as verified. Because may this will helps to somebody who having the same question.
