Hi

We're using D365 Finops & SCM and I'm wondering if anyone knows of an add-on or app that can read pdf's and automate the data entry of pdf sales orders?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi DonnaS,

As far as i know there is no out of the box feature avaiable to read order data from PDF and push to sales order screen.

But I believe, converting data from pdf document into sales order table would be comparatively achievable.

I can see in 02 steps:

    1. Converting PDF document into a readable file using an OCR (If you can find any Free software or buy one)

    2. Pushing data from the readablefile/csv into the D365 AX Sales order tables through data management.

    Hi DonnaS,

I think there isn't any OOB software as far as I know.

There are two options which I can let you know.

    1. If the client can enter the orders you can ask them to enter using customer portal for D365 Supply Chain Management

    2. You can possibly look at a solution where you can use Power Platform and AI Builder in it to scan the PDF and create a Power App use Power Automate in the solution too and make it easier for data entry

But the challenge for the second option is also you need to make sure if the customer item code and the item code which you have in the system is similar. If not you would require to have that mapped out either using Search Name (if you haven't use for any other purpose) or use the Release Product > Sell Tab > External Item description.

    Thanks,

    Kasun

Thanks for the fast responses. I was hoping for an add on as I found one in appsource but it's for the Central module not FinOps. Either way, it's good to know it's doable.
