Hi,

After installing the Danish version of NAV 2018 CU0, we got issue with missing field help/detailed help.

When pressing F1, browser navigates to ...main.aspx?lang=da-DK&content=madeira-get-started.html. Site exists, but it should navigate to specific page og field. As read in this post https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/nav/2016/11/04/dynamics-nav-and-help-a-new-world/ we need to copy files from help files to help server manually.

My problem is, that I cannot find any help files for the 2018 version?

Yeaah ... we got Label Help pop-ups ... woooo huu! :)

but i agree ... there should be help on field level just as in the good old days .... (designing help propperly got easy'er for MS to produce, but the product is for the customer afterall, and it deffently didnt get any easyer for them :) ...
its the same story as it was when moveing from 2016 --> 2017 (the classic help on field level stopped at 2016)

when i setup a new customer .... i add the old files to the help site ... (but should all fields still have the same help as in 2016 ?... correct me if am wrong ... but i dont think so )

Hi, I would like to know if you have sorted your issue? We are experiencing the same thing with Dynamics NAV 2018.

If we open a page(not clicking anywhere) and press F1, the browser navigates to ..main.aspx?lang=en&content=madeira-get-started.html.

When we click on the page and press F1, the browser navigates to our custom page ..main.aspx?lang=en&content=N_11205285.htm

When we click on the 'Microsoft Dynamics NAV Help ?' button top right, the browser also navigates to our custom page ..main.aspx?lang=en&content=N_11205285.htm.

Does anyone know why in the first siuation, a dynamic page would open?

Good day,

As I understand it, Microsoft has discontinued F1 help in that fashion as of 2017. You can still, however, download and install the classic help; which contains the rest of the legacy help files.

I can only find the 2017 classic help files though, at this time.

What will your help navigate to, if you press F1 on on customer card?
My 2016 setup shows this page: ...main.aspx?lang=da-DK&content=N_21.htm
The 2018 setup shows this page: ...main.aspx?lang=da-DK&content=madeira-get-started.html

As the article states, you can look for it on you installation DVD.

IDK if in CU0 there is not help files, but I have CU01 and it is working fine.

You can also check if the Help server is running, on IIS manager:
