Financial Year closing with multiple retained earnings accounts

We would like to configure multiple retained earnings accounts, and close specific GL accounts to these RE account. I don't see a way to close a year to more than one RE account. Is this possible? If so, how?

Hi Yeiner,

You can first close the year to one account and then create a general journal to move balances to more ledger accounts. If there were more accounts possible; what amount should be posted per account? Usually, based on the result of a year (profit or loss), the destination will be determined by accountants.

I have once seen a company making an adjustment for this, which I find pretty useless because such kind of postings occur only once a year.

Therefore, try to follow what Andre suggested.
