Hello,
I would an attribute of a subcomponent inherits the value of the same attribute filled in by user in the parent component above.
Is it possible in a product configurator model in AX 2012 R3?

I am sitting with the same question here, does not look as it is possible and since you've got no answer so far, I guess that is not supported.
UPD: Actually, it's possible. One example here using expression constraint:
I have achieved inheritance using calculation: On the top component create a calculation line where the subcomponent's attribute is the "Target attribute" (format SubcomponentSolverName[SubcomponentAttributeSolverName], available via dropdown as well) and the top component's attribute is the "Expression". Seems to work fine: When a value on the top component is set, go to the subcomponent and the same value is already set there.
