Email a link opens outlook email message with unclickable link

Hi,

I've just installed outlook 365, and now all links in emails created by dynamics crm "email a link"

are not clickable.

with outlook 2016 it worked fine.

    I was able to repro issue as well and problem is these tags "<" ">" at the start and end of URL because of which it doesn't show as hyperlink but 1.) if you hit enter (after putting the cursor at the end of URL) then it should show you as clickable hyperlink or 2.) you can remove the tags "<" & ">" and then it should show as hyperlink or 3.) use UCI app to perform "email a link" action. 

    I looked into this issue further and it seems that this issue only happens in web client and not in UCI apps i.e. If you select a record in UCI app and click on "email a link" button, it would show the URL as hyperlink correctly but if you do the same steps in web client - then instead of brackets at the start and end of URL, it replaces it to these tags - "<" & ">" but if you hit enter in outlook - after putting cursor at the end of UL, it would show as clickable hyperlink.

    but deleting the "<" & ">" tags and press enter doesn't work for me.

    the link remains unclickable plain text.

    i see from your screenshot that the outlook interface is different from mine, maybe its a version issue.

    Thanks for sharing update. Have you tried to perform same action from UCI ? If yes, does it work ?

    Can you share the exact version of outlook that you are using or maybe screenshot so that I can try to repro the issue in that version or compare what's different ? You can try to update outlook to latest build (ignore if it's already done) and see if it helps. Here is the version of outlook I'm using - (16.0.13001.20142) 64-bit

    I haven't tried UCI, as i understand it doesn't contain all the features of the classic interface we need.

    Over past couple of months, we have been adding all features in UCI that are available in web client along with few enhancements as well so I would recommend to use UCI so that you can figure out if it's working as expected or not. Also, legacy web client will be deprecated so you should consider transitioning to UCI. You can find more details here - docs.microsoft.com/.../important-changes-coming

    Thanks for sharing outlook version. I have compared the version and only difference I see is the channel version is being used. I'm checking if there are any issues with - Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel or not and will update the thread by end of day today. You can find details about channel here - docs.microsoft.com/.../update-history-microsoft365-apps-by-date Meanwhile, if you can check for outlook and windows update and install all updates which are available and let me know if that helps.
