Why is there the possibility to set Interaction codes in the General Section of the Interaction Template Setup?
For Outgoing Calls, I understand, because there is a special function from the Contact list to "Make Phone Call" and this code will be used.
But for Emails, E-Mail Draft, Cover Sheet and Meeting Invitation, I don't see why you should set these codes in the Interaction Template Setup as there are no dedicated functions to create the appropriate interactions..
I also don't understand who would use the E-mail interaction with configuration of an e-mail to be sent if all emails are sent from the same general sender. That makes no sense and is therefore not useful to be used as an Interaction-type i.e. by the vendors.
Or am I missing something?
(Business Central Online version)
I am guessing it is for creating different scenarios where you would like to record interactions with the contacts. This is tracked via the Interaction Log Entries. There is no action that produces this, but I am guessing it can be expanded in a feature upgrade. I would recommend entering in a product suggestion on our Ideas site:
