Value of a field getting Auto Populated in CRM Online

Hello,

I have 3 fields in Opportunity named Partner 1, Partner 2 and Partner 3.

All are lookup fields to Accounts (Relationship=Partner)

When a new opportunity is created from Opportunity, the three fields remain blank but when a new opportunity is created from Accounts (through quick create Opportunity form) the three fields gets the value of Potential Customer (Account name) field.

Not sure about this behaviour.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello,

    Got the issue. All 3 fields are mapped to Account field which is also mapped to Potential Customer field.

    Thats the reason the value is getting populated.

    But, if I change the mapping and map all 3 Partner fields with Account name, then this would happen (I assume)

    When I select 1 partner field and add a value, then the other 2 would be populated with the same value.

    Hi,

    Besides the workaround, understand the field mapping, this is the reason causing the field get updated if you create opportunity from account.

    Hi,

    Create a plugin/workflow/plugin to remove the value. This is because the field mapping.

    Hello,

    Created a workflow to Clear all the fields when new record is created.

    Solved the issue.

    But not sure about the cause of the issue.

    Thank you for the reply.

    Account name is the mandatory field in our CRM system.

    We have to select account name/Potential Customer for creating an opportunity.

    Why would the values auto populate when they are all different fields?

    Hi Huzefa,

    When you are creating opportunity from Account entity using Opportunity Quick Create Form, if you will enter Account Name then only it will show account value on Opportunity else it will show blank.

    When creating Opportunity from quick create form in Account entity without selecting Account it will not populate Account in Opportunity
