In my scenario I have to back-flush the inventory which was not used in production. Suppose Product A 10 QTY to be proposed are used in production but only 6 are consumed. The remaining 4 QTY of product A to be back-flush automatically.

    Hi Atif,

You mean to say, you need to return the quantity of 4? What is your process here? Do you pick 10 for the production. Then use some and return the remaining quantity to the warehouse?

Probably, your understanding of back-flush is incorrect. Have a look at a post with a good description: www.inventoryops.com/backflushing.htm

Yes I have to return the quantity of 4 back and want to use it on another production order. I have to put transfer order for that or there is another method to return or use that quantity on another production order.?

And thanks for the link it is helpful to understand back-flush

This is covered in several of my comments in this previous thread https://community.dynamics.com/ax/f/microsoft-dynamics-ax-forum/241016/returning-consumed-items-to-inventory

Assuming you forward flush (consume on Start) you started 10 which consumed material for 10.

    Here's how we manage it:

    1. Check started quantity (10)

    2. Start the difference (-4).  This puts the RM for the 4 back and changes the started quantity to 6.  It also puts back the labor

    3. Report as finished.  The default qty for report as finished is the started quantity (6).

ETA:  If you still created 10 pieces but used only 6 material then using the picklist to return material makes more sense
