Hello all,

I have one SSRS report and it has 2 datasets.

Now, in design part, I need grouping on both datasets.

So it should be like,

Group of DS1

{

Group of DS2

}

Group of DS1

{

Group of DS2

}

and so on.... It's better explained here below,

So I am struggling with grouping one table inside another. is it possible to add one Dataset inside another Dataset's field?

Hi Bhagya,

If you select dataset for the Tablix - You can use only the fields related to that dataset.

You cannot access the other dataset fields.

Hi Girish, thanks for your reply. the link is good, but in my case, that will not work because I need to have grouping on both the tables. And I don't think grouping is possible using lookup, right?

Row grouping in SSRS

Lookup won't work for groupings - It's just got the values from the different dataset.

You can add Grouping for the Tablix and add fields to the grouping related to that Tablix only. You cannot add the fields to grouping which are not in the current Tablix.

You need to create another Tablix -Set the Dataset name and then add the groupings for that field.

So, you cannot combine multiple dataset fields into grouping.
