That is not an ideal solution but I have my answer.
Thank you for the feedback.
I did find KB 861281 on the information already provided above, so wanted to just pass this along to you too.
There are still quite a few users that utilize MDA so that is why it was left in the product when AA was first introduced. AA was planned to be the replacement but due to feedback, we decided to leave it in GP for those MDA users, and stated at that time that you can use it 'as is' but we will not be making any more changes to it going forward. AA has a lot more functionality and flexibility, offering more reporting options, queries, user access, classes and budgeting features. It has the links to Bank Rec and SOP that your users are asking for, so you'd have to go to AA to get that functionality. Here are some links to information that was published at that time:
Is MDA available in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013? - Microsoft Dynamics GP Community
Thank you again for the feedback. But if MDA users want more functionality, they would have to consider moving to AA because it has much more to offer.

Hi Cheryl,
For what it's worth, most companies we work with do not use either AA or Management Reporter because both are - let's be nice and say - not great.
However, EVERYONE loves MDA. It's simple and quick. It would be amazing to bring it back and add support for more modules to it. Bank Rec and SOP are the two that most people ask about. I understand this is not likely, but just wanted to share what we are seeing out there.

Hello,
MDA and Bank Rec were never designed to work together. You would have to go to Tools | Setup | Posting | Posting | Financial series and set the 'Bank Transaction entry' window to 'post to General Ledger' only (not through to GL) and stop the batch in GL. You can then enter the MDA information on the Journal entry in the GL batch before posting.
Since Management Reporter will only read AA information and not MDA, most users are now using AA to replace MDA, so no further changes will be made to the MDA functionality.
Hope that helps!
Thanks,
