Is there a way to hide gl accounts on the Chart of Accounts?

We have many old accounts that we do not use anymore, but they have activity posted to them.

Use block option  to block those accounts and set filter on Chart of Account to show only unblocked account

On a user level, there is this kind of option:

    1. Block the unused accounts. There is a "Blocked" checkmark on the account card which you can activate if the account is not needed anymore. This also will prevent users from posting to this account even if it has been selected.

    2. On the Chart of Accounts page, filter out those accounts that have "Blocked" checkmark.

    3. Save the view of the page (msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh997422(v=nav.70).aspx) and instruct users to do the same - they will refer to the Chart of Accounts from a saved view, so they will not see the blocked accounts.

There is no standard to hide these accounts.

Either you can customise and mark those accounts as old, else you can block those G/L Accounts. If you block them and user selects the account system will show error as account is blocked.

Yes, quite simple. Create an option field on the G/L Account table/card to SHOW or HIDE.

Then set the desired accounts to HIDE. Finally, create a Saved View (you can do this from the Windows Client, not the Web Client) that filters on the new field to only display the G/L Accounts marked SHOW.

Alternately, you can create a new page (or modify the existing G/L Account Card and/or List page to filter out the accounts marked HIDE).

I hope this helps. If my response has answered your question, please verify by clicking Yes next to "Did this answer your question?"
