Planning Worksheet Not Creating Purchase Orders

Hi:

Although the Planning Worksheet is successfully creating production orders where needed for the demand produced through sales orders, it is not creating the corresponding purchase orders.

This forces using the Requisition Worksheet to create the purchase orders.

Doing so is not really a "problem".

But, why are purchase orders not being created via the Planning Worksheet?

Thanks!

John

    Hi MahGah:

It doesn't do so, for me.

    It's very strange.

Do you have Vendor setup for those items?

Like in Planning Worksheet do you see Vendor No? If not you need to setup Vendor in Item Card then try.

    Hi John

That is really strange. I am listing anything I could think but honestly I am sure you checked all of them. If this did not resolve maybe check with Microsoft.

    1) in item card you have replenishment as Purchase. Also, you did not select any production BOM or routing for that item.

    2) if you have Stockkeeping unit same setup as above is valid (and has vendor as well).

    3) in your No Series for Purchase order you selected Default for the number series.

    4) the Message in Planning worksheet is New and not cancel or etc.

    Hello john >>

    >> may be you are not getting lines on planning Worksheet of sales order line which item's replenishment is Purchase --> If i'm getting this correctly than

Go to item card and check Reordering Policy in Planning tab >> set Reordering policy to "ORDER" and try on planning worksheet.

    >> If you had created SKUs than check same thing on SKU card.

If above mentioned answer is not related to your question, than explain it properly.

Once I removed the Item No. filter on the Calculate Regenerative Plan so that the calculation would not run against the single Produced Item only, the Planning Worksheet also suggested purchase orders.

    This was the resolution.
